To Workout In The Morning Or At Night

The best time to workout is a question that many fitness enthusiasts seek an answer to. Working out during the day or at night both have their own advantages depending on the outcome that one desires to achieve.

A number of fitness enthusiasts and health specialists swear that working out in the morning consumes more fat than working out in the evening.

There are two main reasons as to why this may be the case. In the morning, your glucose levels are very low. This is because your body metabolism used up a lot of glucose during the night and it was not replenished by food.

When you work out in the morning, your body looks for other sources of fat within the body. This burns up fat really fast.

The other reason is that cortisol is at its highest level in the body in the morning. Cortisol is the body’s fat-consuming hormone. Working out when cortisol levels are high causes a fast rate of fat burn-up.

There are many advantages that come with working out in the morning. First of all, many people find it more productive to work out in the morning than at night.

Chances are high that after a long and tiresome day at work, you will be tired in the evening and just want to take a shower, have a hot meal and catch some sleep.

Working out in the morning means that you are well-rested and are giving your all towards the exercise routine.

Working out in the morning also keeps you energized throughout the day. When you work out in the morning, your body instantly moves from a place of rest and relaxation to a place of activity.

The flow of blood in your body is rapidly increased and this keeps your brain alert and sharp throughout the day.

Advantages of Working Out at Night

One of the benefits of working out at night is the ability to push yourself farther for longer. When you exercise in the morning, you have two thoughts running through your mind that limit how much you can put into your exercise routine.

The first thought is that you only have so much time to exercise because you need to be at work at a certain time. The other thought is that you need to be careful how much energy you will use for the workout as you need to save enough to see you through the day at work.

These are thoughts that you do not have when exercising at night. At night, you have already spent all the energy you needed during the day and are free to dispense all that is left in your tank on the workout routine.

You also have nothing else scheduled for the rest of the night except sleeping so you can throw in as many extra hours as you feel until you are exhausted.

You also get a higher quality of sleep at night right after a gruesome workout.

So at the end of the day, to exercise at the crack of dawn or in the dark of the night is up to you.

Both times have their advantages and disadvantages. Find out which advantages appeal to you more and stick to that workout period.
